About Square One
Square One Remodeling was founded by Owen Koziol. At Square One, we believe a great remodel starts with a solid plan and a team you can trust. We work closely with homeowners to bring their vision to life through quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and attention to detail. From small updates to full-scale renovations, we manage each project from start to finish to make the remodeling process straightforward, organized, and stress-free.
Our Story
Growing up in rural Nebraska, Owen was introduced to construction at an early age, working alongside his dad. That experience sparked a passion for the trade, leading him to earn an Associate's Degree in Building Construction and to build over five years of hands-on experience in the industry.
Today, Owen has carried those lessons into Square One Remodeling, with a focus on providing homeowners with quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and a remodeling experience they can trust. His goal is to build more than just beautiful spaces—he wants to build a company known for doing things the right way, standing behind its work, and making the remodeling process easier for every homeowner he serves.

What we believe
Four rules we don’t break
Tell people the truth
Including when it costs us the job. We have talked clients out of projects, and refused to finish basements until the water was fixed. The referrals that come back are worth more than the work we turned down.
Solve the real problem
The complaint is rarely the problem. "We need new countertops" usually means "this room does not work." We spend time figuring out which one you have before quoting either.
Respect the household
You live here. Dust containment on day one, daily cleanup, agreed working hours, and a temporary kitchen if we take yours away. These are not extras.
Stand behind it
We finish the punch list before we invoice the final payment, not after. And the project manager whose number you have still answers it once the job is closed out.
